Shell Hood

The Shell Hood has adjustable ratchet headgear attached to a sturdy fiberglass reinforced frame. Providing an excellent range of vision, the window is constructed of 40 mil vinyl permanently sealed to the hood with the use of a 17” X 8” cover window (20 mil thick) resting inside a snap-enclosed pocket for easy replacement. Underarm straps with plastic quick release fittings hold the front and rear bibs close to the body. A standard hang-up loop is included in the design for easy storage. Specially designed options include a perforated airline that provides airflow around the entire inside of the hood (some versions can accommodate a full-face airline respirator if needed) and the option to add headgear to accommodate a hard hat for additional protection. Available in chest length or waist length. The 077-4060 HiGlo Shell Hood design may be in stock and could ship within 2 business days. The remaining designs are manufactured to order.

Length-Shell Hood

Chest Length

The bibs of Shell Hood extend past the shoulders to mid-chest in the front and to the shoulder blade region in the back. Front to back straps under the arms hold the hood close to the body.

Waist Length

Garment length comes to just below the waist of an average build individual

Closure-Shell Hood

Buckle Closure

Chemically resistant black plastic bayonet-style buckle fastener attached to a 1" black polypropylene webbing strap placed under the arms to hold the front and rear bibs loses to the body for comfort and splash protection.

Hook & Loop Closure

Tabs with 4" x 6" loop patches are added to the back section of the hood to fasten to the hook patches on the front section of the Hood for a snug fit. This option is only available on a waist length hood.

Cover windows protect the sealed window from nicks, scratches and other minor damage.

Fabric

CPE

Chlorinated Polyethylene is easily recognized by its bright orange color so that it is readily identifiable in hazardous conditions. CPE is a 23 mil thick proprietary formulated fabric that provides outstanding chemical and flame resistance while maintaining flexibility in low temperatures. It also provides superior protection from inorganic acids, oxidizing acids and aliphatic hydro-carbons. CPE fabric meets and exceeds the Flame Impingement criteria set forth in ASTM F1358.

HiGlo

HiGlo is a bright yellow, proprietary polyvinyl chloride compound that is coated on both sides. Our compound gives the fabric a softer, more pliant feel and superb low temperature flexibility. At 19 mils to 21 mils thick, HiGlo is the fabric of choice for maintenance and operations personnel within the chemical/petrochemical and HF Refining industries.

FlexLite Orange

FlexLite Orange is easily recognized by its bright neon orange color. At 19 mils to 21 mils thick, FlexLite Orange is similar to HiGlo except for its difference in color.

GraLite® 20

GraLite® 20 is recommended for more severe corrosive and abrasive conditions because of its 24 mils to 26 mils thickness. With a PVC coating on one side, GraLite® 20 has proven itself to be a rugged, durable protective fabric.

GraLite®

GraLite® is a pearl gray, proprietary polyvinyl chloride compound that is coated on both sides. The 19 mils to 21 mils thick material offers resistance to most aliphatic hydrocarbons, caustics, organic acids and alcohols.

WinterGlo 20

WinterGlo® 20 is 24 mils to 26 mils thick and offers outstanding chemical resistance. WinterGlo 20 is easily identified by its one side coating and our proprietary PVC formulation keeps fabric soft and flexible year round.

WinterGlo

WinterGlo is a bright pink and coated on both sides. WinterGlo is 19 mils to 21 mils thick and easily identified by its distinctive color and flexibility.
